Mata acquisition came at a right time, Precisely when Van Persie, Fellaini and Rooney have overcomed their injury problems. This gives David Moyes options in attack and in midfield.
In my opinion Mata should walk straight into Tuesday lineup against Cardiff. We need him, especially when it comes to the area of chance creation, of late, we have created less chances even against relegation threatened teams and this culminated in us scoring less goals from open play.
Every United fan will admit that most of our goals this season have come from setpieces, for a club like Manchester United that's is not good enough. Kagawa, Valencia and Young have been very disappointing especially kagawa considering his exploits in Germany for Dortmund. Valencia has lost that touch that made him a terror for any defender two seasons ago. Maybe this has something to do with his confidence because he rarely takes on a defender one-on-one and is useless without a defender who overlaps like Rafael. His Crosses too hardly get pass the first man in the opponents defence.
Young for me shouldn't be playing for Manchester United now, Yes, he is that bad. The only attention he gets now is the one he gets for diving. Kagawa may have been played on numerous occasions on the left side of attack instead of his preferred 10. role but the point is that he hasn't impressed enough anytime he gets to play the 10 role. It seems the English league is too physical for him, he rarely takes opponents on, when he does most often he is easily dispossessed.
Mata's playmaking skills will ensure that our lead wont have to drop to midfield in search of the ball. Van Persie and Rooney must be smiling now wherever they are.
Mata's presence on the field will not only boost the confidence of the team but also bring the much needed creativity back into the side. United fans should expect more goals now that we have Mata,
